In The Beginning
Out For Adventure owner Jim Martin began his outdoor interests as soon as he could walk exploring the surroundings of his family's remote cottage accessible by boat or float plane only. This setting fuelled Jim's desire to pursue adventure in the outdoors, which lead to canoe tripping and hiking at an unusually young age. Without available mentors Jim turned to his small school library and began practicing the art of outdoor survival skills and camp craft and began organizing and leading day trips for his friends. Leading day trips quickly progressed into organizing multi-day adventures by the age of 13. Jim found in those early days that food planning was difficult and what was worse was that he could not make a good cup of tea in the wilderness. Determined to make even the lightest backpacking trip a delightful experience, with healthy, tasty food, Martin set out to perfect his art of trip planning. After many years of trial, error and improvements he has developed the ultimate formula for incredible adventure trips. Out For Adventure is built on this base of knowledge and enthusiasm mixed with the desire to produce the absolute best adventure vacation experience. Not only is this rewarding to both the client and the company but it what brings us our repeat business year after year.
